Overview

Teesside University was awarded full university status in 1992 and is situated in Middlesbrough in the north-east of England. 20,000 full and part-time students are currently enrolled and it was the first modern university to win a Times Higher Education Award. Since 1992, it has won nine National Teaching Fellowships for excellence in teaching quality. Teesside University was awarded The Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2013 for outstanding work in the field of enterprise and business engagement.

The University is strong in the areas of forensic science, sport and exercise, computer game design and animation. Many of these are accredited by professional bodies. Teesside University supports graduates in finding employment for at least two years after they leave, and many courses include paid work placements as part of the degree.

The University of Gloucestershire comprises three campuses across Cheltenham and Gloucester and was awarded university status in 2001 following the merger of numerous institutions. 9,200 students are currently enrolled from over 60 different countries.

Gloucestershire courses feature local and international field trips, a variety of work experience opportunities, and learning industry-related skills. The university is proud of what students learn and how well-equipped they are, so much so that 96% of Gloucestershire graduates are in work or further study (Graduate Outcomes) within 15 months.

The university recently received a silver rating in the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) with “very high-quality” student experience and outcomes and ‘outstanding quality’ overall in staff professional development and academic practice. This speaks volumes about teaching quality and students' positive outlook when studying here. Gloucestershire also made the UK’s top 20 for career prospects in the WhatUni Student Choice Survey.

The University of Greenwich is a leading modern public university. It offers a range of subjects across its four faculties: the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business School, Faculty of Education and Health and Faculty of Engineering and Science.

The University performed well in recent National Student Surveys, with Greenwich staff and its courses receiving high marks. The University also scores highly for student satisfaction, with Business Administration, English Language and English Language Teaching, Computer Security and Forensics, Computing with Games Development, Financial Mathematics, Midwifery, and Public Health excelling. Leeds Beckett University is one of the most popular universities in the UK with a history dating back almost 200 years. More than 150 un­dergraduate and 190 postgraduate courses are offered, as well as foundation and pre-sessional English programmes. The university aims to give students a top-quality learning experience and state-of-the-art facilities are one of the many reasons why more than 24,000 stu­dents study at their two Leeds-based campuses.

The University places a strong focus on employability after graduation and all courses include at least two weeks of work-related learning per year. Work placements are encouraged and very popular, with nearly half of all students taking a sandwich course. Leeds' stated aims are to have every graduate enterprising, digitally literate and with a global outlook.
